Brett Chism (21 years old) has had an interesting career as a mixed martial artist.  He has headkicked an opponent in Las Vegas before he was old enough to legally consume adult beverages (see above).  As an amateur, he won a world title in a tournament (see below).

Saturday evening he will again be the main event at Mathis City Auditorium in Budweiser’s Summer Heat.  This match will be against Jason Wells of Douglas.  Wells was formerly a resident of Valdosta.  Chism trained with Wells in the past.

Chism will be joined on the card by team-mates Kamrin Naville, Shaun Gay, Shawn Snow, Nathan Barnes, Dicky Willson, Brent Johnson, and Jarvis Stallings.  Also, local fighters from White Tiger Martial Arts, Jason Davis and John Reid, will compete.

Doors open at 6 PM.  Food and drinks by Locos in the party room with a large screen of the live action.  Tickets are available at VMAC - 245.8622, Southland Pawn, Family Pizza, and American Muffler.

The Fun Channel from Tifton, Georgia, will broadcast Winter Heat this weekend.   Winter Heat was our last MMA event held this past February.

Winter Heat will be broadcast Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.  The broadcast time on Friday is 5 PM. 

Congrats to David “Sasquatch” Adams and Joe “the Hammer” Hayes on their great performances this weekend in the IKF Kickboxing Federation’s Southeast Regional tournament.  Both fought in the International Rules or leg kick divisions.  Hayes hammered out his opponent to win a split decision in the 179 division.  Adams lost a unanimous decision to an ex-professional hockey player in the super heavyweight division after completely dominating the first round. 

Both are planning to continue on to the IKF World Classic to held in Orlando in July.

Congratulations again guys!  We are proud of you!

Joe “The Hammer” Hayes and David “Sasquatch” Adams are traveling to the International Kickboxing Federation’s Southeast Regional Tournament to be held in Simpsonville, SC.  They will compete in their respective weight class divisions of International Rules kickboxing.  Mike West is traveling with them to work their corner.  This event is a seeding tournament for the IKF World Classic to be held in July.  Check back here for more info.
